Hi I'm Doris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 30 years and have 4 beautiful children, 1 Daughter in law, 1 Son-in-law, 4 grandchildren. I was a stay at home mom while raising my children. I was involved in many volunteer opportunities in the schools, community and church. I have been a soccer and baseball coach for my children's teams and loved the experiences it brought into our lives. I have always encouraged my children to do their best and live an honest life. I returned to college when my children were older and was only able to finish my associate degree before a move across the country to Vermont (where we lived for over 2 years). My youngest child is now serving a mission in Minnesota! By the end of the school year, I will have 3 of my children as college graduates. My daughter in law also is a college graduate. My son in law is serving in the Air Force and will finish his college degree in the future! We have always emphasized the importance of an college education. I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. I was born to strong parents who taught me by example and by the service that they showed to everyone. I find great happiness is being a member of the church and love to study and learn more through the scriptures. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of god and that through him the gospel was restored. I know that we have a modern prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, who also leads us and knows what is needed in these days. The Book of Mormon is true, I have read it many times and learn more every time I do. It was written for our days and has helped me many times throughout my life. I love serving in the church and attending the Temple when I can. I know that my family can be eternal if I live my life according to the doctrine and following the words of the Prophet.

How I live my faith

I try to be example to others by the way I live each day. I try to be happy and serve others when possible. Throughout my life I have taught the children, youth and even the women in the church. I have been able to share my love for music by being a music leader for the children. I have also been a Cub Scout leader and worked with the boys. My sons are both Eagle Scouts, so scouting was important to our family. I have been a leader in the Women's, Young Women's and Primary (Children organization). I also have always been a visiting teacher and visited many women in the areas I have lived.
