Hi I'm Lyle

I'm a Mormon. I live in Parkdale, Oregon. I'm an orchardist and teacher. I live at the base of beautiful Mt. Hood. I am a musician

About Me

I am a farmer and teacher. We raise over 50 varieties of apples and pears. I live in the most beautiful place you can imagine, at the base of Mt Hood. I have a beautiful wife, four children and four grand children. I love to travel and do genealogy. I also love the out of doors. I am a lover of good music and drama. My instrument of choice is the trumpet and I have played in many musicals over the years. I attended the University of Oregon and I am a "Duck" through and through. My wife and I love sports. We also enjoy each others company and really enjoy walks and talks together. I love to teach the youth of the land and thrill in learning new things as well. One of my missions in life is to be a "life long learner".

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a convert to the church and joined in 1970 in the Springfield Oregon area. My wife and I had decided before our marriage that we wanted a church to part of our lives to raise our children in. We feel a family that prays together stays together. A young member of the church and a student of my wife introduced herself to my wife and bore testimony of the truthfulness and wonderful blessings of the LDS church. As a result we decided to investigate the church and as a result joined the LDS church these many years ago. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and really look forward to living with Him again someday. Joining the church was the most important decision I have ever made in my life.

How I live my faith

I know it is important to be an active member of my community. I have served as a member of the School Board, The domestic water board and the Irrigation water board. I have served as a local committee member of my political party, and of the local schools that my children attended. I have coached community sports and little league. I have served as a volunteer in the Boy Scouts, Four H, FFA, and in my church. I served on staff as a Woodbadge instructor in the Boy Scouts and served my last year as a course director. I was blessed to awarded the "Silver Beaver " award in the Boy Scouts for my work with the youth. I have worked with the youth in the Church and I am presently serving as a High Councilor. I am a Home teacher. and love my families that I am assigned to home teach. Community service is an important part of my families lives.
