Hi I'm Michael

I love my family. I love simplicity. I believe I can achieve anything I really put my mind to, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Though I came to this earth as a three-month premature baby and have been known as a miracle baby, I am grateful for my body and life, and will always hope to simply be a good boy who honors his parents' sacrifice by the way he lives his life. If I could inhabit an abandoned cave, ancient ruins or a run down shed in a forest, I would love every minute of being out there. I grew up with thoughts of adventure, exploration and imagination, which lead me to my enjoyment of simplicity. I love scrimping and saving money. Better than having money enough to buy something from the store, I find satisfaction in using a coupon or creating the item myself. This has taught me some of life's greatest lessons, some painful, some wonderful. I want to build, own, and operate my own greenhouse and be completely self-sufficient with a family someday. I spent two years of my wonderful life in Ukraine, sharing what I believe blesses the lives of anyone who sincerely seeks it. I have seen miracles performed in behalf of those who I grew to love there in Ukraine. They are a people who are trusting and loving, despite a difficult history. I will always love them. I am studying Computer Science, which is much more complex than I ever imagined it could be. This field, I have come to believe, can simplify the difficulties of life, and allow time for me, as well as others, to love my family and friends, to love my neighbor and to be the good boy my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon, cause I have learned the basics of how one might live their life to be the most happy they could possibly be. I have trials, as all seem to have, but the blessings of the restored gospel and the knowledge I have obtained through it, has steered my life onto a long and seemingly endless course of happiness.

How I live my faith

Each day. I am currently a teacher to a bunch of guys at my university. I love it cause I learn as I study to prepare for what the Lord wants me to share, and the guys teach me in ways, of which, I couldn't have thought. We really work together to understand the gospel, and lift one another.

What is the First Vision?

Joseph Smith began his search for God and religion as a young boy. Surrounded by churches of different christianity origins, he sought out the truth. He attended meetings of religions surrounding him, but struggled to understand why different religions disagreed over interpretation of scriptures. While studying the Bible a scripture deeply touched him. It says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5). Upon reading this scripture, he decided to ask God in prayer. So as to find a place alone where he could pray, Joseph went into the woods near his home. Joseph knelt in earnest prayer to ask God which religion he should join. Of the experience called "The First Vision" to mormons, Joseph wrote: "I saw a pillar of light directly above my head above the brightness of the sun... When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other -- This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" In answer to this simple prayer, it was indeed God the Father and His Son, the Savior of the World, who appeared to Joseph. They answered that he was to join none of the churches that existed at that time. Like Abraham, Moses and many other prophets, Joseph had seen a vision that would change the world, and begin a restoration of blessings to all mankind. Show more Show less
