Hi I'm Pam

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mom. I'm a photographer. I'm busy all the time so I'm grateful for the peace the gospel brings to my life.

About Me

I love my kids and my wonderful husband and I'm so grateful to have them to spend my life with. I help out with the kids' schools and try to be involved in their lives. They are growing up too fast! I spend a lot of time on my small business - photography. I struggle with taking too much time for that and not enough for my family - I never feel like I'm in balance but I'm always looking for a better way to make it work. The kids play sports - we especially love soccer. This year all three of them are playing - it's funny to be a soccer mom like this - who knew I'd be driving my SUV with 3 kids to different practices and games all the time! Just like the stereotype.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and am so grateful to have been a member all my life. Even when you grow up a member like I did, you still have to be converted. When I went away to college I had to decide if I was going to continue like my parents had taught me, or if I was going to choose another way. It wasn't a difficult decision. I knew the gospel was true then and I know it now. I'm so grateful for the eternal perspective it provides, giving my life direction and meaning. We don't have all the answers, but I love the many answers that we've been given. I love the feeling we have in our home - we try to remember Jesus Christ and what He did for us, and it makes us all better people. It helps us so much as we try to raise our children to be honest, hard-working, righteous people who will make the world a better place.

How I live my faith

I volunteer at the kids' schools, and spend a lot of time there. I do some volunteering with my photography business as well. I try to use my strengths to help others when I can. At church I have the opportunity to work with children and music - two things I love best! I especially enjoy seeing the love my children have for music - they sing their favorite songs all day long. I also have the opportunity to help with missionary work - a challenge for me because I've never been very good at sharing the gospel, even though it's so important to me.

Are Mormons Christians?

Pam
When I was a teenager, a very good friend of mine told me that I was not a Christian. I was baffled that she would tell that I was not what I knew myself to be. I tried reasoning with her - I told her that the full name of our church is actually "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" and even the name proclaims our belief in Christ. Every week at church we spend most of the time teaching and learning about Christ. Our scripture study, in great part, is about Christ. She was not convinced, and indeed may still believe that I am not a Christian, but I came to realize that it doesn't matter. What matters is that we live our lives in such a way that we can be an example of goodness to people around us. Like it says in Matthew chapter 7:16-20 "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." I need to live my life so that my love for Christ is plain to see, no matter what others may believe about the church. Show more Show less
