Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom to five young children. Being a mom is definitely the hardest thing I have ever done, but it also brings me the greatest joy I have ever known. I am licensed as a social worker, but have put that on hold for now. I love being at home with my family, hanging out with my husband, and those times when everyone in my house is happy at the same time. I love reading, cooking, sewing, laughing, playing games, and hanging out at the park with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors have been members of the church for many generations. I loved going to primary as a child and learning about Jesus. Each lesson at church and with my family helped me to gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. As a teenager, I remember feeling that I needed to decide how faithfully I would live the principles of the gospel. As I strived to become a better disciple of Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost testified to me many times over that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that this is His restored church, and that he leads and guides us today through a living prophet. I read my scriptures and prayed daily, tried to serve and love as Christ did, and tried to keep my mind and body clean. I wasn’t perfect at it, but I remember feeling incredibly happy as I lived this way. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know that He lived on this earth, suffered for our sins, and was resurrected so that we can return to live with Him again. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. I know that Christ restored His church through Joseph Smith and that we continue to have access to a prophet that receives revelation for Christ’s church. I know that I can receive person revelation and have been blessed with it many times, helping me to become a better person, wife and mother. I know that keeping the commandments the Savior has given us makes me feel happy and helps me to strengthen my faith in Him. It has been worth every sacrifice I have made to be a faithful member of His church.

How I live my faith

I try to make sure that I live my faith every day. I have found that starting each day with personal prayer and scripture study really helps me to start the day on the right track. I enjoy making goals for personal improvement and working towards them. My life always seems to be busy and loud, but I try to make sure I have a little quiet time each day to ponder and to listen to the Spirit. I know that I am happier when I am serving those around me, both in my home and out. I’m not always good at taking opportunities to serve, but I do feel it is an important part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am very active in my church and volunteer by working with the children ages 3-11. I guess one of the most important things I do to live my faith, is trying to be more like Christ every day. I’m not even close yet, but I believe that is what He wants us to do, to follow Him and become like Him.
