Hi I'm Nancy Hawkins

I'm a Mormon. I come from a long line of Mormons.

About Me

I have been married for almost 30 years and we have 7 children. I have been a foster mom for 11 years. I work as a labor and delivery nurse. For fun I hike, play volleyball, ride my bike, read, and camp. I am a farm girl at heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have always had a strong relationship with my Savior. I started out relying on the testimony of my parents, but by the time I was a teenager I knew my Savior lives and that he hears and answers my prayers. I have never doubted that this is His church. It is more than just a religion to me...it is a way of life. I know that following the principles of the gospel and the guidelines of the church will bring me more happiness than I could ever find otherwise. It has always been the foundation of my peace.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as president of the organization for the young girls, ages 12-18. I love working with them and sharing my testimony with them and helping them come to realize that they are truly daughters of God with divine worth. One of the most challenging positions I filled was as music leader for the smaller children. I sing alto and had a really hard time trying to sing the melody with the children. I was so glad when I was released from that calling. Then only a couple of years later I was called to do it again. I almost wanted to cry, but I have never refused a calling to work in a church position and I determined to put my heart into it. I ended up loving that position and the children I worked with and really felt blessed to teach them to sing. I have found that we are given those challenges to help us to grow and that usually God leaves us there until we learn what we need to learn, or in my case, has us do it again and again!
