Hi I'm Danielle

I'm a busy mom and a published author. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a wonderful and faithful mother who dedicated her life to raising six children. Because of her sacrifice and good example, I married in the Atlanta, Georgia, LDS Temple and have four sons. My family loves to travel and try new things. We enjoy computers, High School marching band competitions, scouting, geocaching and scuba. I enjoy reading, writing and cooking. I also like to try my hand at gardening and landscaping. Two things I would like to learn is horseback riding and fencing. They're on my bucket list! After my youngest child started school, I focused on turning my lifelong hobby of writing into a career. It took many years, and I continue to grow and learn, but 2012 will see my sixth book published. For this wonderful blessing, I will be eternally grateful. To be able to develop and share my talent, has been a lifelong dream that the Lord has allowed me to see come true.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church, but my own conversion came when I was a teenager. I studied the scriptures and sought the Lord through prayer. As I came to a sure knowledge that the Book of Mormon was true scripture, testifying of Jesus Christ just like the Bible, I realized I had a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored. Like everyone else, I have had ups and down, but my decisions, even in the darkest hours, to hold true to my baptism promises and other commitments have all come from my faith that the scriptures testify of Jesus Christ, and He lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by endeavoring to be a good example to my friends and family and by serving. Charity and unconditional love are natural desires that I embrace. As a member of the church, I try to accept whatever I am called to do and give it my best. As a result, I have served in the children's Primary organization and in Cub Scouting for over the past twenty years. My love for the Gospel and Jesus Christ grow as I serve His little ones. Because I've moved a lot in my life and have children who struggle with social disabilities, I make a sincere effort to be kind to those who are different, both in my community and in my church family. It isn't always easy, especially when I see those close to me hurting, but understanding that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and knows our talents helps me to endure. Meeting special spirits and establishing life long friendships is a great reward. As an author and editor in the e-book industry for over the past fifteen years, I have had many opportunities to stand up for what is right and true. I've tried to live my faith by celebrating clean literature and entertainment, and saying 'no' to those things that violate the purity of sacred things. Being a Mormon and a writer in the mainstream publishing market often means standing alone and feeling unpopular, but I know that the blessings in my life and career have come when I have made the right choices.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Danielle
Some of my dearest friends are not Mormons. This makes no difference to me because I think of them as my brothers and sisters. I would do anything for a friend it doesn't matter what their religious preferences are. We're all in this together. Show more Show less
