Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mother and public health professional, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am now the mother of young twins, and I worked in public health for many years before they were born. I love the outdoors, being active, and music. I feel really strongly that everyone has a mission to accomplish.

Why I am a Mormon

I consider myself a champion of practical strategies. For me, the gospel of Jesus Christ fits right in as a foundation for seeing the potential in myself and others; for prioritizing my energy to do the most good; and recognizing the hand of the Lord in everyday moments. As a stubborn person who tends sometimes to "go it alone," I am grateful to know that God cares about me personally, and that we are urged to use the Atonement not just to right wrongs but to make good people better.

How I live my faith

My daily goal is to make sure that my actions match what I say I believe. I try to channel the compassion and kindness of God in how I raise my small children, talk to my partner, and interact with others--especially in such a divisive time politically. My friends know that I attend church, and when appropriate I am happy to share how I see the impact of God and how this gives me hope.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

As with any relationship, building a relationship with Christ takes time. I feel my faith grow when I make time to pray by myself and read scripture. Private, personal acts of devotion are as necessary as service and attending meetings. Show more Show less
