Hi I'm Derick Kesler

I'm a writer, I'm a dreamer, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family, I love my life and I love my church. Heavenly Father loves each one of us and he has a plan for us that we do not always understand, but we should never forget that it is in our best interest to follow him; to grow and change accordingly. I love my girlfriend so much. Together, we're learning how to be happy and to plan for a future where we can be married in the temple. This is our goal. It takes a lot of faith, and hard work, but someday we will be there and it will be incredible! I love music. The power that formulated and articulated sound has on the imagination and the soul is an incredible thing to me. I love finding music that is so off-the-wall-beautiful and exotic and that takes me places and tells me stories. I love words. I have always been a story-teller. Since before I knew how to spell, I have been thinking of stories of adventure, exploration and discovery. Learning to write and harness the power of the english language is a journey; it's a trip through understanding, and the more we understand history and human experience, it gives so much power to every single word; every single place that mankind has ever been. The thought that God has always visited us in our lives with scriptures is such a magnificent thing. When we read the scriptures, we pass through the same, elementary arches of written faith and God's will that the heads of all mankind have gone under on a greater journey to where? Eternity. Think about it! It's so incredible!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint because I have found happiness in following the Lord and focusing on what's most important in life: serving others, having faith and having hope in more than this life has to offer.

How I live my faith

I teach the valiant ten year olds and I love it! I am preparing to go on a mission and want to serve the Lord with all my heart. He has provided a new life for me, and a way out when I have been most lost. He has sent one of his precious daughters into my life because he knew that we needed each other. I owe God more than I can ever pay, and serving for two years will be the most selfless thing I can do, having been given so much by our Father. "And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to labor in the vineyards of the Lord, and thus we see the great cause of sorrow and also of rejoicing: Sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life." Alma 28:14
