Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in California. I've studied Mechanical Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from California and after high school, I moved to Utah to go to school. I have attended for three years and I am studying Mechanical Engineering with and emphasis in Aerospace engineering. I actually really like to do homework. I get to learn more about everything that way. When I have time I love to play video games too. I am now serving a mission for LDS church in the Texas Dallas Mission. Now I can also speak Spanish because of my mission. I also really love getting outdoors and camping and doing other activities.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in me and my family really did not go to church that much but when I was 16 something happened that changed my life. My father passed away and for a while I was beating myself up about that and was actually blaming myself. After this event though I learned so much. I learned that God really has a plan for us and that he wants to help us. I learned that I will see my Father again and that brought peace to me. For some reason or some feeling I had, I started to come back to church by myself and was going during my senior year of High School. I then decided that I wanted to go to school in Utah. At that time I never planned that I would go on a mission. I always said "Oh that is for members that were active during their lives." But God had other plans for me. I was then called to several time demanding callings in the church but it was all for my good. I learned so much. During this time I was also looking to see if I really believed in all of this. One day I watched a movie about Joseph Smith and right then the Holy Ghost testified to me that he was a prophet. I know that he was one before I really ever read the Book of Mormon. I then decided to read The Book of Mormon and I did. After I finished, I knelt down and prayed and I knew that it was the word of God and that the church was true. Since that day when I was 16, the Lord has been preparing me to serve. I finally asked God if I should go on a mission and I did. I love this church so much. It is amazing that I can be this happy all the time. I know that my father dying was actually part of the plan that God has for me. It is hard to say that but I am grateful for where I am right now in my life. I know that the church of Jesus Christ is on the earth again which means that God's authority is here too. I know that we have a living prophet and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I also know that the Book of Mormon will bring anyone closer to Christ than any other book.

How I live my faith

As of right now the way that I live my faith is that I am a missionary. I love being able to go out every day and tell that word that Jesus is the Christ and that he lives and that because he lives and loves us that he has restored his church on the world again. I work hard with the members of the church in my areas so that we can have great activities and that we, all together, help people to come unto Christ. I love being able to bring people hope in this crazy world and I love serving them. Before my mission I served in several callings while going to college. One way that I tried hard to live my faith was that I did not do homework on Sundays. I wanted to focus entirely on the Lord and his day.
