Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm an Idaho girl and yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Stephanie. I am the second oldest of eight children: five boys and three girls. I absolutely love spending time with my wonderful family and friends. I am currently a BYU-Idaho student studying health science and love it! I am also a huge dance lover. I have been dancing since I was a little girl. (Ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, ballroom, clogging, etc.) I have had many opportunities to teach dance to children of all ages and I enjoy it immensely. I love to smile and laugh and live life to it's fullest. I love my Savior and the happiness in my life that comes from living the gospel. And I am pleased to announce that I have recently received my call to serve as a missionary in the Concepcion Chile South Mission!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful LDS family. And I cannot express the happiness that has come into my life from living the gospel! The LDS faith centers completely around Christ and the importance of Family. This is why I love my faith. Growing up my parents would strive to make their house a home for their children, a place of safety from the world. I am never lonely when I am home. And the knowledge that I know our family will be together forever through the sealing in God's holy house, the temple, only brings more happiness and love into our family and my personal life. For I cannot imagine living throughout all eternity without them!!

How I live my faith

Everything I do is because I believe and know that there is a life to come. I find joy and happiness in the little things in life. I know the power in a simple smile given, an outstretched hand, a listening ear, and speaking a hello. I do my best to share the Light of Christ with everyone I meet. I read and study the scriptures on Christ's teachings and try to apply them in my daily life. I attend my church meetings and as of right now am teaching Youth Sunday School. I pray to my Father in Heaven for guidance in my life and do my best to live worthy of the companionship of His Holy Spirit.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Stephanie
Man is composed of two parts: a mortal body, and an immortal spirit. The Lord calls our body a ‘tabernacle’ or a ‘temple’ since it is the temporary residence of our eternal spirit (see Book of Mormon, Mosiah 3:5; 1 Corinthians 3:16). Since the spirit and the body together are the soul of man (see Doctrine and Covenants 88:15), what affects one affects the other. By taking care of our bodies we make our “tabernacles” an acceptable house for our spirits. By defiling our bodies with drugs, tobacco, or unwholesome foods it affects our spirits adversely. Our Heavenly Father has given us our bodies as gift. Why not treat them as such? Show more Show less
