Hi I'm Kent

Hi. I'm Kent Gleed. I'm a father, a Cardiac Electrophysiologist (heart rhythm specialist), a golfer, and I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since 1977. I am blessed with a wonderful wife, 4 wonderful children (3 boys and 1 girl), and 4 incredible grandchildren, so far. They are the most important things in my life. I practice medicine treating heart rhythms for a living. My job is incredibly challenging and very rewarding. I do find it very challenging to find balance in my life but my wonderful wife is a wonderful help. When I have the time, I love to play one of my 7 guitars. I'm a "child of the 70's" and love the music of that decade. I also enjoy playing that music on the guitar. I also love to golf; although it is better described as chasing a little white ball.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church although, this is not why I'm currently a member. I am a member because I choose to be. I , like all people who were born into the church, have had to become converted myself. This happened in my late teenage years. I did what everyone has to do to know if what we have is the truth. I read the scriptures, especially The Book of Mormon, and prayed and asked God if this is true. He answered my prayers and that is why I am a Mormon. I love the answers the Church gives me as to why am I here, what am I supposed to do while I'm here, and what life's priorities should be. In this world it is so easy to get lost in what others tell you are important that one can lose sight of what matters most. The Church gives me the foundation I need to stay focused on what is important and what will truly make me happy.

How I live my faith

By serving in the church, I'm able to strengthen myself and hopefully others. Currently I service with the ward mission helping bring others, both members of the church and those who are not, come closer to Christ. By sharing the message of Christ and His all encompassing atonement, I come closer to Him and hopefully others will fill closer to Him. As I realize that each person I meet is a child of our Father in Heaven, I feel more love and understanding for them. I also feel closer to them as I recognize that they are my heavenly brother or sister. In this world of shifting moral values and ethics where anything goes and everything is ok, it's comforting to there are constant truths and values that, if abided by, will bring you peace, comfort, and joy in this life.
