Hi I'm Andrew

My family has lived in Arizona since 1848 and now I find myself in Michigan. I have a wonderful wife and daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Andrew and I have been married to a lovely wife, Lisa, for 15 years and have one daughter, Megan. I grew up in Arizona where my family has been for over 10 generations. I have had many different jobs including Auto Mechanic, Grocery Clerk, Financial Analyst, Shelf Replenish-er, and Sidewalk Cleaner. In 2008 I found myself part of the growing unemployed crowd searching for work. In 2009 I found a job in Michigan and moved my family. This is the first time since 1848 since my family has moved out of Arizona. I was in very unfamiliar territory but relied on the Lord for help. It is 2011 and I am back on the unemployment line again. I am not afraid though because as I do what it right I know the Lord will watch over me and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1830 when the church was first organized. Are roots run very deep in the church on all sides of the family. Yes we have had a few members of our family fall away or decide that it is too hard to stay faithful just like any family I am sure. As for me I grew up in the church. I did not have a perfect home. We struggled to read the scriptures, and say prayers but our legacy roots in the church kept us active. There comes a time in every person's life that no matter how they were raised they need to venture out onto their own beliefs and that time came for me when I was 18 and then again when I was in my late 20's. Was all these things about Joseph Smith, my cousin, really true? Does the Book of Mormon really contain the writings of an ancient people who lived here in the America's? I followed the example of so many other people that had come before me and I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I did not get the "warm fuzzes" but I received a thought and impression that yes it was all true and that I needed to follow in the footsteps of my forefathers and help the church bring others to Christ. Since then life just seems so much more simple knowing that you are doing the right thing and that you know the whole plan of salvation that is taught through the Lord's church.

How I live my faith

I currently live in a small town in Michigan and I live my faith by helping a lot of people threw my church callings. Currently I am the President of the Young Men's organization. Here I help direct the learning and growth of all the young men in our unit. I am also the Scout Master. I feel it important for the young men to learn scouting and the lessons it provides. I am also the Physical Facilities Coordinator and the Building Scheduler. With these responsibilities I watch over and take care of the church building. With my free time I perform service in my community make new friends and hang out with them. I am trying to organize an Emergency Preparedness group in the community to help my neighbors be prepared for any natural or man made disasters that might come. The biggest way I live my faith is to just be an example to those around me or doing good and helping others.
