Hi I'm Allison

I'm a senior in college in Indianapolis. I'm a team manager for the men's & women's basketball teams at school....& I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am entering my senior year of college in Indianapolis. I am a huge sports fanatic and was a student manager for basketball for 7 years. I love music. I play the violin and some piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for my entire life. I have had countless experiences that have helped me gain a testimony of this church. I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt the spirit testify of it's truthfulness. I love that I can be with my family for all eternity. I know, with all my heart, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that he helped restore His true church upon this earth. I have read his account of the first vision and I just recently had an opportunity to visit the Sacred Grove and I have never felt more sure of the truthfulness of this church and the gospel. I haven't known any other religion other than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I can't imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

I was a nursery worker for three years and am currently a sunbeam teacher. I have the opportunity to teach children ages 3-4 years old. I love being able to see their testimonies grow and their knowledge of the gospel increase every week. Being a manager for the basketball teams, I have many opportunities to share my testimony and live the standards of the gospel. I try to be the best example of the church and the gospel that I can be each day that I live.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet of the LDS church. His desire to know which church was true led him to ask God which one he should join. He went to the Sacred Grove and prayed to know which church to join and the Father and his Son came to Joseph in the grove and told him that he should join none of them. It has been said that "Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it..."-Elder John Taylor, Doctrine and Covenants 1353 Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely NOT. I love to serve anyone and everyone that I can. I had the opportunity, along with a bunch of youth from my stake, to help build a house for Habitat for Humanity. Helping to build that house was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I loved seeing the expressions on the faces of the family that was to move into the home and I know that, because we helped build this house, that they would have a place to call home. I have never been so happy to serve in my entire life. I try to live my life serving different people each day that I live. Show more Show less
