Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Colorado. I received my Master's degree in Public Administration. I love being in the mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud father of three boys and a girl. My favorite things to do besides spending time with my family are snowboarding in the winter and mountain climbing in the summer. Since I grew up in Colorado and have lived here for the last eight years, I have had the opportunity to climb a bunch of "14ers" (Colorado has over 50 mountains with an elevation of at least 14,000 feet). Climbing each mountain has its unique challenges, but the reward of getting to the top makes it all worth it. Being in the mountains and experiencing nature is always a spiritual experience for me. I want to teach my family to love nature and see God’s work in all things.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings true happiness! I love God and his Son, Jesus Christ. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Jesus taught to love and serve other people, regardless of our skin color, nationality or political ideologies. We are all brothers and sisters, children of God. Jesus died for each one of us, and has asked us to follow Him by keeping His commandments. When I strive to do this in my life, I am happy. When I don't, I'm not. True happiness comes from following the principles of Jesus Christ, principles such as faith, love, hard work, generosity and service to others.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love about being a Mormon is the many opportunities I have to serve others. Serving others brings joy to my life. Right now, I help the members of our congregation share their beliefs with their friends and neighbors. It can be scary to talk about personal beliefs concerning God and Jesus Christ with those we care about, but I know as we reach out to others, we will be blessed. I also help the full-time missionaries teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are interested in learning more. In the past, I have also been very involved with the youth of our congregation and the Boy Scouts of America program in our community, and been a counselor to the Bishop.
