Hi I'm Jeff Louie
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I’m a convert to the Church and was baptized 13 years ago, the unique thing about my conversion was I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, but was baptized in New Jersey. I am married and have 3 lovely children. My wife and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this year. I'm currently a Executive Director at a major telecommunications company. I love to travel, golf and spend time with the family.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah as a non member. It was interesting as I was growing up I had a number of LDS friends and we all had a great time. It wasn't until I got married, that my wife (inactive at that time) and I thought about which religion to join. After my Dad passed away, I mentioned to my wife, I would never see him again. My wife quickly responded “what do you mean?” After she told me what she understood about eternal life, that’s when I felt impressed to find a religon that has a focus and belief on eternal families. As my wife and I researched, we came to conclusion that "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" gave us this perspective, but it did take awhile. It wasn't until we had 2 children and moved to New Jersey, that I got baptized. As I learn more and more about the gospel, I know that we made the right decision of joining the Church and my wife being reactivated. I love the Church with all my heart and the many blessings we receive each and every day.
How I live my faith
Throughout my 13 years as a member, I have served in many capacities each calling providing me a greater responsibility and gaining more and more gospel principles. Currently, I'm serving as the Stake Executive Secretary in a stake that has over 5,500 members. I have held other callings at the Ward level –serving as President of the Young Men’s organization (ages 12-18), teaching 8 year old children about the gospel, and serving in leadership capacities within the Men's organizations. I love each and every one these callings and have gained a stronger perspective of the Church and the gospel.
