Hi I'm Hillary

I'm a Georgia Peach! I play soccer, I ballroom dance, I love the beach. Walt Disney World is my home away from home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a rural Georgia town. The south has a place in my heart! I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and went to work for a marketing research company. I had the opportunity to work with Coca-Cola for a while. I am currently a full-time mom. I have one son, and he keeps me on my toes! He certainly brings joy to my life and makes me smile every day! I also love to play sports, board games, and I enjoy dancing, especially ballroom dancing. I love the Harry Potter books, and I've read all of them several times. I love to be outside; whether it's a picnic, hiking to waterfalls, or playing in the beach. I love it all. Roller coasters are lots of fun for me. Walt Disney World is awesome! I love going there and feeling the magic!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I was born to a family were members of the LDS church. As a child I went to church and began learning about Jesus. As I got older I started to seek to know for myself if the church was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. I had grown up with the church so I was familiar with all the doctrines but I wanted to know for myself it is was right. In the Book or Mormon there is a scripture that encouraged me to pray to God to know for myself if these words were true. (Moroni 10:4-5) I did pray for myself and I felt in my heart a warm and peaceful feeling. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the Lord had called him to restore His true Gospel to Earth once again. Since then I have felt the Spirit confirm truths to me as I continue to study the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. And I know that the Lord has heard and answered many of my prayers. I know the Gospel is true and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I volunteer a great amount of my time to the church. I work mostly with the children at church. I work with a few other ladies and together we organize the classes on Sunday for all children aged 18 months to 11 years old. We also sing with them and have activities to help them learn more about Jesus Christ and His Gospel. It's very exciting to work with the children! They have such sweet spirits and so much faith! I also have a few ladies that are my age that I visit at least once a month in their home. I have a partner that goes with me and we prepare a spiritual message to share with each sister. We also enjoy talking and developing a greater friendship with each sister. These relationships are very important because I am able to determine any needs that my sisters have and I help them when possible. I believe that this is a work of charity as I strive to take care of the needs of others. The Lord wants us to look after each other; to comfort the lonely, care for the sick, ease the burdens of the stressed; through these monthly visits I am able to do that for each of the ladies I visit.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Hillary
YES! I know that my husband and I along with our children will be together in the next life. That brings me great happiness and peace. In the LDS faith we believe the through the power of the Priesthood we can be sealed or joined together for eternity in our Holy Temples. I think this is one of the sweetest mercies our Savior has given us the opportunity to be with our family forever. Just recently I lost both of my grandparents just two months apart. It was a very sad and hard time for me and for our family. As we attended the viewing and funeral I was very comforted because I knew that would not be the last time I saw my Pawpaw and Mawmaw. I know that as a family we are sealed together and I know that when I pass away, they will be there waiting for me and it will be a joyous reunion! I can't imagine having to deal with two funerals of my beloved grandparents if I didn't have the knowledge of eternal families. I am so grateful that the Lord has given all of us on the Earth the opportunity to be sealed as families. Show more Show less
