Hi I'm Alaina

I was born and raised in Colorado. I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

Beginning April 23, 2014, I left my family, school, job, and friends to become a missionary for the LDS church and moved clear across the country to do so. Now, I live a life of service. I teach people the unique message this church has to offer. More importantly, I help people come closer to their families and our Savior, Jesus Christ. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. There is truly no greater calling than to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true. When I was a teenager in high school, I took comfort in the standards of the church, but I never read the Book of Mormon. It wasn't until college that I really started reading, studying, and pondering on the Book of Mormon. And it was only after that, that I truly gained my understanding and witness of the Mormon faith. I could see how being a Mormon blessed my life through the guidance and comfort of the Holy Ghost, which I gained through daily scripture study. See, us Mormons have discovered something great. And that, is pure and true happiness! I know God has sent me here to earth for a purpose and I also know that He loves me as well as all his children. It only makes sense that He wants His children, the ones He loves, to be happy. I love this gospel, I live this gospel, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the example of my savior Jesus Christ. I know I mess up a lot in doing so, but I know that through repentance, that guilt can be swept away and I can become more like Him. In all I do, I try to live worthily to have the influence of the Holy Ghost, or the Holy Spirit, in my life. I do so because it brings me happiness. I try to follow God's plan of Happiness, which promises us that if we strive to do what He asks, we can live with Him and our families forever. I know that each time I act on my faith, by changing to become more like Jesus Christ, I grow closer to Him and feel His love more strongly for me and all of His children in my life. I live my faith by striving to rely on Jesus Christ to direct me on His path.
