Hi I'm Joshua

I was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am currently serving a mission in Costa Rica. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary in the San Jose, Costa Rica from August 2011 until July 2013. Right now I am serving the people of Hatillo, San Jose and I am very honored to be able to serve among the wonderful Costa Rican People and look forward to many wonderful experiences coming my way. I enjoy playing American football, paintball, and playing video games. I enjoy playing video games such as Assassins Creed, Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat, and Tomb Raider. I also like card games like Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, and Magic the Gathering. Upon my return I will be attending college and continuing my education. I graduated high school and seminary in 2010. Prior to leaving for my mission I attended Institute at our local university. I have a strong testimony of this Gospel and the Book of Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. I was baptized at eight years old and although I did everything I was supposed to I hadnt gained a testimony. I had never read the Book of Mormon. When I was 14 years old, after I was ordained a Teacher, i was worried that I was just going through the motions of being a Mormon. I was asked to bear my testimony and while i was walking i realized, I didnt have a testimony. So I did the traditional testimony, "I know this church is true, I love my parents" after I said my testimony I sat down and I thought to myself, I didnt know the church was true. I didnt believe in the gospel. I just did it because my family did. That day I left church, I texted my Mom that I was sick and going to walk home. On my way I felt angry with myself that I had just been pretending to be a Mormon. I went home and put on a movie about Joseph Smith. He was 14 years old when he wanted to know the truth and he prayed to God, and recieved an answer. I felt upset, he had the faith to know, so I thought why cant I pray and know the truth? I grabbed my Book of Mormon and bike and started riding. I drove to a park and I was alone. I stopped got off and headed to the big hill that was above the playground. I took out my book and started to read, It had been about 1130 a.m. when I started reading. I had got so absorbed into reading that I was starting to cry while I was reading in Alma. I was reading how Alma was persecuted for preaching the gospel to people who hated him just for preaching the word of God. I was just reading and reading. I was in 3rd Nephi, reading about Jesus Christ coming to the Americas when i noticed that it was 400p.m. I had been reading all day and I hadn't noticed. I checked my phone and it was off. When I went home I finished reading and after reading the Book of Mormon I prayed to God to find out if this gospel was true and if Joseph Smith is a true prophet and I recieved my answer. Yes. Yes it is.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission. I love to share the gospel, it has changed my life so much and I want to share it with the world. So I read the Book of Mormon daily, as a missionary I pray many times a day and I always do my best to follow Christ and His example.
