Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Utah. I love animals and my family.

About Me

I am a proud mother of four children. I love being involved with my childrens lives and our community around us. I have been a show mom, a marching band booster president, a coach, a scout leader, PTA president, a city council member and much more. For the past thirteen years my hobby has been showning miniature horses but these last few years my youngest son has become involved in the 4H livestock program so now most of my summer time is spent helping him work his livestock for his shows. My second to youngest races go karts, which is way to scary for me, so my husband is his pit crew and they are a great team. Our other two children, one in college (who showed horses with me) and the other serving a LDS mission (who was on the drumline in the marching band) are older and are making their own decisions with the occasional asking of advice here and there. I always thought that as my kids would get older my life would maybe begin to slow down, WRONG! Between family, church and community there is no time to slow down. But, I guess I like it that way.

Why I am a Mormon

If you look way back, being a mormon has been in my family for generations. I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Throughout my life sometimes I have wondered if the church is really true. Is there a God who loves me? Is there really a Christ who came to earth to pay for the sins I committ if I but repent? Is there a place to go after I die? Will I ever see my family after death? I guess that the older I get these questions mean so much more to me than they did when I was young. But as I look around me and look into this wicked world my heart feels and knows that there is no way in this world that we (the human race) just happened. This may sound silly but this really is a main part of my testimony. I believe that we weren't just happenchanced created. I believe that there is a plan for us and that plan is, for us is to come to earth, learn about God and Jesus Christ, follow their words and then return to live with God and Christ once again. Another main part of my testimony is that I believe that God would never leave us alone in this world. He has prepared a way for us to have living prophets who guide and direct us in our lives here upon the earth. I believe he would never leave us alone here on this earth to fight off satan by ourselves. By living the Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have direction and discipline. I also believe that I am a happier person having standards and goals and having made committments to my God and myself and family I can see the big picture!

How I live my faith

I simply live my faith by trying to be a good person and helping others. I may not be able to save the world but at least I try to make it a better place to live in here in my community.
