Hi I'm Bill Moats

Born and raised in Norfolk, VA. Being a member of the Mormon Church has been a tremendous blessing for me and my family.

About Me

5 children / 6 grand-children / an amazing wife, and a wonderful, dynamic, very amazing family. Love sports, outdoor activities, traveling, golf, and scuba diving.

Why I am a Mormon

Over the course of my entire life the principles of the gospel have proven over and over to be real, complete, and true. I have put the Mormon church to the test in every category. The best comment I can make is that I know from personal experience that the gospel principles and doctrines as taught by the church are based upon truth. You cannot have nor experience the success and growth the church has experienced if based upon the philosophies of man. The Lord personally directs the affairs of this church--as it is His church. It is organized and designed by Him. That is why principles such as eternal families, eternal marriage, revelation, welfare, repentance, authority, priesthood, etc are correctly taught and preached. The gospel of Jesus Christ is simply beautiful and beautifully simple.

How I live my faith

I have been deeply involved in coaching sports, community activities, and in serving in various Church and Ward callings. I have worked with not only our youth group in the church, but also coached football, basketball, and baseball. It was my pleasure to be a Bishop for 5+ years and be extremely close to how a Ward and the Church operates with members as well as non-members. I live my faith one day at a time. We are not at all what many of the perceptions are--as of matter of fact it is quite comical to understand how far apart the perceptions and reality truly are. Best way to understand is to simply come and watch and observe. I think you would be pleasantly surprised that all we do is about Christ, helping other, family, and trying our best to live good lives in a very crazy and complex world.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I can think of no greater doctrine nor principle that is closer to ones heart than the family, a spouse, and our children. The marvelous doctrine of eternal families allows "all of us" the opportunity to continue our love, relationships, and family after we depart this life. Best advice I can give is to sincerley look into this doctrine and principle and then decide for yourself wheter you think it is of man, or comes from God. If we truly understand the nature and character of our Heavenly Father, then the doctrine of eternal families and marriage not only makes perfect logical sense, it is a healing balm to our souls!
