Hi I'm Nate Childs

I love sports, technology, music, and most of all, my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my beautiful wife for nearly nine years. We have three children and they are the best thing that has ever happened to us. I went to school at Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Marketing. I worked at 1-800 CONTACTS for nearly 10 years and recently accepted a job with OtterBox in Ft. Collins, CO. I have many hobbies. I love sports--especially basketball, collecting toys, playing with computers, playing video games, flying my RC helicopter. I take pride in taking care of our temporal possessions, including our house, yard, and anything else I can get my hands on. I love listening to music and never leave home without my iPod. I also enjoy board games, teasing people, and above all else--spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but that is not why I continue to go today. I am a Mormon because of many repeated experiences that have helped me to know for myself the truthfulness of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The bulk of this growth came as I had the opportunity to serve as a Mormon Missionary in the Hartford, CT area as a 19 year old young man. It was here that I had the opportunity to interact with others from faiths that represent all major world religions. I questioned my beliefs, compared them to others, and through study and prayer and REPEATED personal experiences with the Holy Spirit I have had the truth confirmed to my mind and heart. And that is the beautiful thing about gaining a personal testimony--we are invited to pray and ask God for ourselves. Our free agency allows us to study what we would like, learn as we choose, and make our own decisions. By reading the Book of Mormon, praying about it, and testing its teachings on my own, I have come to know that Jesus is the Christ and that the original organization of the Church that existed in ancient times has indeed been restored to the earth in these days through the Prophet Joseph Smith. In addition to the restoration of the church organization, the Lord restored the Priesthood, the very power to act in the Lord's name. This same power given by Christ to His Apostles in ancient times is again upon the earth. The Priesthood has blessed my life. I have seen it heal my sick father countless times. I have received spiritual healing in my personal life, and I cannot deny its power. My testimony guides my actions. I have fallen short at times in my life, and Jesus has been there to rescue me. He loves me, has a plan for my life and the life of my family and that gives me great hope in a world that is so troubled. It gives me hope for my children to live virtuous and happy lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. My knowledge of the Lord's commandments helps me to treat others with respect, to be honest in my dealings with others, and to be a representative of Jesus' holy name and work wherever I find myself.
