Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a Michigander, a college student, I love sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small farming town in western Michigan where I grew up with my parents and 9 siblings. I love spending time outside and playing sports and when I can do it with my family it is even better. I am currently studying exercise and wellness and Spanish at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Sometimes it is hard being so far away from my family, but I am very lucky in the fact that I've always had at least one sibling at BYU with me and at one point I had all three of my older brothers and a sister-in-law. My siblings are my best friends and I love hanging out with them. I have had the amazing opportunity to do a study abroad program while in college. I had the chance to travel to Spain and experience a whole new culture which I loved! I hope that in the future I can continue to travel to new places and return to Spain as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the great privilege of being brought up in a home where I was taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though I have been Mormon my whole life, I still had to decide for myself what I believed. Through being taught by my parents and many members of the church throughout the years I was able to learn so much about my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and their love for me. I feel a great peace in knowing that I was in heaven before I came down to earth and that I am here to get a body and learn to deal with all that comes with that and to learn and grow in general, which often comes through trials. I also know that after I die I will return to live with my Heavenly parents and I have the opportunity to live with my family that I have now. All of these things have been a part of why I'm Mormon. When I read the Book of Mormon I can feel the Spirit (a burning in my heart) and I love it! I am a Mormon because I have prayed about the teachings of the church and I have received confirmation that it is true. Everything about the church is good and helps me want to be a better person.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is by going to church each Sunday. By doing so I am able to unite with others who have the same faith as I do and we can help continue to build each other's faith in God. Another big part of how I live my faith is more than just going to church on Sundays it is doing the little things every day. Praying, reading from the scriptures and living in a way the Christ would have me live. I am always looking for opportunities to help others and opportunities to cheer up their day. And to always be ready to share with others what I believe and what a great impact that my faith has had in my life.
