Hi I'm Jill

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jill and I am a Mormon. I am the mother of two grown children with one son serving a Mission in the Dominican Republic. I am an operating room scrub nurse, and have been for 20 years. I recently served on two medical missions to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I love serving the Lord and others, serving makes up who and what I am. When I'm helping I'm happy!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a youth I met a young Jewish boy who asked me to Christmas Prom... We dated casually, then I left for BYU to find my return missionary. After two years of college I came home and married my Jewish boyfriend. After six years of marraige we were in a critical car accident. I was seriously injured when I was thrown thru the windshield of our vehicle. I broke my neck and had serious facial lacerations, including having to have one of my ears reattatched. While laying in Critical Care my husband asked me if there was anything in life I still wanted, I answered 'for you to be baptized and for our family to be sealed in the Temple'. He said that this was a really good time to ask! That night I went into respiratory arrest and 'coded'... I heard my grandfather, who had passed away years ago, tell me it was not my time to leave this life. My grandfather said that I had more work to do here on earth. The work included having a family forever. We needed to go the Temple and be sealed together as a family for our time on this earth, and for all eternity. No death do us part! My husband was baptized, and our family was sealed in the Jordan River Temple. Families ARE forever! This is one reason why I am a Mormon. I believe that our time on earth is not the only time we will be together as families. The Lord has a plan for my family and yours. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an outline for finding happiness in this life and the next. If I follow the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, I can return to live with Him again. I'm so thankful for this Gospel, it will bring about a change of heart for all people and all nations.

How I live my faith

I love to live my faith by serving others... I currently serve in our Young Women's program at Church. The young women of our congregation, ages 12-18 years, made fabric backpacks for the children in Haiti. I went to Haiti last November to work in the Cholera clinic and a small hospital in Pierre Pyenne. The young women made 100 fabric backpacks and collected school supplies, small toys and CTR (Choose The Right) bracelets for the sick and injured children and a few orphanages in Haiti. The children who received those backpacks received a bag full of love and compassion. Our Young women sent those packs to each Haitian child with a prayer inside, that those scattered lives would be put back together with the help of a backpack and a loving Heavenly Father. A Father who would listen to each childs prayer and answer by the helping hands of others. My faith grew as wide as each smile on those childrens faces. The Lord hears and answers prayers, for you, me and Tatiana. The faith of the Haitian people is fierce, my testimony in a Heavenly Father who loves all his children was sustained!
