Hi I'm Nick Haertel

Grew up in Salt Lake City, went on a mission to Wisconsin, and now - a student studying finance.

About Me

I've been alive 22 years and I still look like I'm 17. I love meeting people even though I can be a little shy at first. You can find me running, biking, climbing, hiking, or snowshoeing most weekends. I'm quirky, pretty clumsy, and very energetic. I made some bad decisions and developed bad habits earlier in life. I set my foot down and decided to move forward as a different person. Every aspect of my life has changed for the better because of that decision. I make tons of mistakes every day, but I try to be like my savior - Jesus Christ. Currently, I'm a new student at BYU studying Finance. I feel like Rudy each time I step on campus because it's still unreal to me. I'm still trying to figure out what the rest of my life holds, but I'm very grateful to be here right now.

Why I am a Mormon

Easy, it brings a smile to my face. I have learned that these teachings are true. This knowledge strengthens as I try to live the principles of Jesus Christ daily.

How I live my faith

Well, faith is definitely an action word. Nothing is more boring than imagining your life as it should be or what you would like it to be. I try to live my life through faith. I've found that true joy and real freedom comes in the teachings of Christ.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Nick Haertel
Whenever I make it to the top of a cliff or a peak on a mountain I get awestruck. The world and universe are evidence to me of God's existence. I feel God's presence when I pray. It's a quiet experience - but it's his way of letting me know he's there. Show more Show less
