Hi I'm Rick

I’m an average guy, husband, a father, a friend, and I’m a Mormon!

About Me

I am a father of 5 boys and a daughter who passed away as an infant. When I am not working I can be found spending time with my wife and/or my boys, spending time with them is my hobby. I am lucky to be married to my best friend who makes me want to be the best father, husband and person I can be. I enjoy serving others because it makes feel good knowing that I have helped someone in need. I treat others with respect yet I am direct because I do not believe in wasting other people’s time. I try to be a better person every day, some days I succeed other days remind me why I am here. I enjoy meeting new people everywhere I go, believe that I cannot have too many friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is a series of choices, each with their own path. As a teenager I discovered that I did not know as much as I had thought and that my path was leading me away from those that meant the most to me in my life. One day I prayed to know what I should do, I was prompted to follow my heart. I chose to follow that prompting through the power and spirit of my heavenly father I came to know that the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. The Atonement of my Savior has made it possible for me and my family to be together forever, this was confirmed to me when my daughter passed away by the strength and power of the spirit that was with me at that moment of despair which gave me and my family the strength to move forward. This is the same spirit that I feel when I serve others, teach and bear testimony. This is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Every day I wake up brings new challenges so I pray often not just for me but for those around me, my family, friends, coworkers, customers and those who are in need. I try to read the scriptures every morning with my family and have my own personal study time. As a family, we try to pray every morning, meal and night. I strive to be an example of a follower of Christ in all that I do and say. At the end of the day I often wonder how I did as I strived to be Christ like. I believe that our Heavenly Father has a sense of humor because he continues to send challenges my way and I continue to mess them up! It’s not hard to live my faith because those around me who know I am a Mormon and are not, won’t let me forget it and I thank them for that daily!
