Hi I'm Jackson

I'm a baseball player. I am a student. I am a missionary in Indonesia. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love baseball. I have played since I was 9 years old. I played four years of high school baseball, two of which were on the varsity team. I also played football, three years in high school. I currently love to mountain bike and go golfing. I played a semester of college baseball, but decided to serve a mission so I went back to work after one semester. I am studying chemistry at Utah Valley and I hope to go to med school when I graduate. I am the oldest child in my family so I am officially the experiment child. Haha I have been in the church since birth. Even though most of my childhood, I would just follow my parents to church, I always knew that there was something different after church, prayer, scripture study, family home evenings, and general conferences. I gained a testimony that everything that I was taught was true when I was about 14 years old. I asked God if Joseph Smith was a prophet, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was God's kingdom on the earth today. And I can bear testimony that cannot and will not be wiped away by man, that He did answer, and it is true. All of my greatest blessings in this life flow from that source, that testimony, and I can never betray it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. I decided to be baptized mostly because my parents said it was good. I was eight years old, I did exactly as I was told. Despite the fact that I was so young, I remember how clean I felt afterwards and how strong the spirit was. I didn't really know that the church was totally true until I understood exactly how good the Atonement of Jesus Christ made me feel. I love Him and I know that He loves me. He knows what I am going through and how much I need His help. Now, I know the great blessings that come from living this gospel. I see people separated in their families everyday. But, if we live the principles of the doctrine of Christ and strive to love and serve one another, all people will be united in faith, love, harmony, and most of all, peace. That is the biggest thing that I have gotten from this church and the restored gospel is the greatest sense of peace. I would be a mess with out the peace that comes from Christ's atonement and this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing it. I strive everyday to keep God's commandments and live worthily to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost. I give service to my fellow man every chance I can. The biggest way that I am living my faith is that I am currently serving a full time mission in Indonesia. There is no better way to live the gospel than by sharing it. If we are brave enough to bear testimony in church, why not outside with out friends and family. I strive to share these wonderful blessings with those around me. I may be rejected very frequently, but I know that this is the work of God and that I am on His errand.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today. He is called through revelation and he continually receives revelation. He leads this church today in the place of Jesus Christ, and he does it as directed by Jesus Christ. He is proof that revelation does not stop. Show more Show less
