Hi I'm Nick

I grew up in Las Vegas and I love to play baseball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play college baseball. It is my favorite thing to do! I will play, coach or watch baseball any chance that I get! I have three younger brothers who are my bestfriends. My mother was raised in the Church and my father is a convert. He was raised catholic but met with the missionaries when he was 20. He decided to join the Church, then he married my mother. After I was born they went through the temple with me and we were all sealed together forever. This is one of the biggest blessings that I have in my life. My family means everything to me and I am so grateful that I have the chance to be with them forever. I am currently serving a mission in the OTM (Oklahoma Tulsa Mission) I have served in Greenwood Arkansas, Jenks Oklahoma, St. Robert Missouri, Rogers Arkansas and Tulsa Oklahoma. I love being out here and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of this church. I wasn't always an active member, though. For a period of years I stopped attending church for a number of reasons, one of those being my father moving away for work. I only got to see him on the weekends so I spent time with him instead of going to church. This was a huge mistake because I found myself growing away from our Father in Heaven. Like other teenagers, I made mistakes and learned from them. My family started going back to church but I did NOT want to be there. It wasn't until I had a young mens leader who really made the effort to reach out to me, then I started to feel something. I didn't know what it was but I wanted to feel it more often. That was when I realized that I was feeling the Spirit! That was when I decided that I was going to clean up my act and prepare to serve a mission. As I was approaching my senior year in high school, I had my mind set on serving a mission, but I had a baseball coach who really had faith in me and told me that I could take my talents further then the high school level. So I decided to go for it and I had an amazing senior year! So good, that there was talk of me getting drafted. This has been my dream since I was little, playing pro baseball. I did not get drafted that year and I was angry about it. It wasn't until I was alone in the mountains one day that I knelt and said a prayer, at this time the Spirit told me that I didn't get drafted because I needed to serve a mission. So that is what I did. Now I am in love with the mission field and I am very grateful that I made the choice to come and serve The Lord. I have felt the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life, I know that he lives and that he loves us. I know that he knows all of us personally because he suffered for us all. I am truly grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by serving a mission. I am out all day everyday spreading the Gospel to those that will listen. It is the best thing that I have ever done! When I return home from my mission I plan on trying to play pro baseball. If my dream becomes a reality then I will spread the Gospel through my profession by talking to teammates and others about Christ and His true Church on the earth.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Nick
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We love him and we are grateful for what he did for the church. We are grateful that we have the Restored Gospel on the earth today and that Joseph Smith played a role in that Restoration. God the Father and Jesus Christ are who we worship, it is because of them that we have everything! It is because of them that we have this Church and this Gospel. Joseph Smith was someone who simply worked in behalf of them. We do not worship Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
