Hi I'm Nate

I work too much, and goof off even more, and yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am what feels like a career student, I've been in school for many years and still have many more to go. I am an Architecture student which takes up much of my time. I work as a waiter, something I have been doing since I was 18. The rest of my time spent in good old fashioned recreation. When it comes down to it, I am a nerd. I can sit and read a fantasy novel for hours on end, even if it's one I've read several times before. I enjoy board games more than is probably healthy, and also indulge in the occasional D&D-style RPGs. On the other hand, I love spending time outdoors, whether it's camping, or spending almost every Saturday during the summer months paintballing with my buddies.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is Mormon, so I guess you could say I was born into this religion, but I never felt that it was pushed on me. As a teenager I went through that period of apathy that teenagers are prone to, and I think my faith probably suffered more than most things. After that I took a serious look at what it was that I had been taught to believe, and discovered that it was something that I personally felt to be true. It is something that has enriched my life, and truly brought me happiness. I served a two year mission to the Czech Republic in order to share with others that happiness in the hope that I might be able to in some small way help them to draw closer to their Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I'm honestly a pretty normal guy. I go to school, I work, and I play. I love to share my beliefs with others when they ask questions, but don't tend to broadcast them. I don't like to get in other peoples' faces about my beliefs, rather I prefer to live my life according to the principles I have been taught, and allow to people to learn what I believe though observation and experience. . All of my friends can tell you that I won't drink or smoke, and though they will occasionally give me a good-natured ribbing, they have never allowed anyone to pressure me. I can be kind and trusting to a fault, trying to see the best in everyone around me and helping where I can. I am easy going and rarely get into arguments with others, preferring instead to make friends where I can.
