Hi I'm Eddie

I grew up in California. I'm a safety instructor, retired from the Telephone company and the Marine Corps, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a husband, father, gandfather and great-grandfather, I love being with my children, their families of 24 of our grand children, their spouses and 30 great-grandchildren. We have family reunions every year or two, besides other frequent visits with our scattered family. They live in 12 different western states, which gives us many occasions to travel, which we love to do.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was a young child my great grandmother would read to me from her Bible on my frequent visits to her home. I loved to hear these stories, and later when I went to visit I would go get her Bible and have her read to me. These men and women in the stories were real to me and I believed the Bible to be the word of God. She was a Baptist, and in her 100th year when she died. In my teen years I tried to find a religion that taught the same principles I learned from the Bible. When I was 20 a school chum asked me if I would like to know more about the Mormon Church. I accepted his offer and on the first visit of the missionaries I felt the spirit so very strong, and I knew what the taught me was absoluty true. They answered all of my questions, and I found the Chuch I had been searching for that was identified in the New Testament. That was in 1952, I was baptized and I have been an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ever since.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by serving others, both in the church and in the community. I have held many volunteer positions and worked on many projects in the community. These are from working with the youth to helping the elderly. I have worked on the State Emergency Medical Committee, the Boy Scouts, The Community Fire Safety Committee, PTA Committies, Neighborhood Community Council President and many other groups that help others. In the church I haved served as a youth leader, an adult leader and as a volunteer in most of the church organizations. I also work in the Family History Center as a consultant, and also in the temple as an ordinance worker. I try to be a good example for my family and to all I come in contact with.
