Hi I'm MaryAnn

I grew up in the western United States. I am a mother. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. My husband works at the local university. I do bookkeeping and substitute teach at my childrens' elementary school. My passion is music. I love to sing, and I play the piano and organ. I also like gardening, but it's hard to keep up with my yard. I like to clean and organize too (I know, weird). I like the sense of accomplishment. I like to look back at something and say, "I did that."

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a mormon. I was baptized when I was 8-years-old. Many times I have wondered why I keep living the gospel. To be honest, I am comfortable. But this isn't to say I haven't questioned my beliefs. Very recently I was told that a close friend of mine chose to leave the church and not live the gospel. She has decided she doesn't believe the same things. This has made me ponder what I really believe. Here is what I believe: Actually, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know He came here to earth to show us all how we should be. His life is a perfect example to follow, He showed love to everyone. I know He suffered pain for my sins so that I could return to live with Heavenly Father and my family if I choose to use His atonement. I know He lives. And I know that I will live again. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it numerous times, and each time I read it, I feel good about what I am reading. I know it testifies of Jesus Christ, and reaffirms everything taught in the Bible. I know the Book of Mormon was written for us in our time. And I love reading the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly and feel the spirit every time I go. I participate in volunteering in many parts. I play the organ once a month in our general worship meeting. I help with the adult women in organizing and planning meetings. I help in Primary with music and teaching the children. I have helped with the youth (teenagers) in many of their activities. I visit with people in our area to make sure their needs are being taken care of. We do service projects as a family.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

MaryAnn
I think that you can increase your faith in Jesus Christ by learning about Him. Learn about His life and the what He did. And then follow His example, live the way He lived, not by wearing sandels, but by treating people the way He treated people. Show more Show less
