Hi I'm Bill

I am a husband, father, son, and brother who loves life and all it offers!

About Me

I love spending time with my talented, beautiful, and amazing wife and each of my five fantastic children. I enjoy the outdoors, have summited numerous fourteeners, like sports of all kinds, and love cracking off the wall jokes to make people laugh. I find life to be most enjoyable when I am actively serving others and allow myself to find meaning through all of my experiences, whether they be enjoyable or extremely difficult. I love the scriptures; two of my favorites being Proverbs 3:5-6 in the Old Testament, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all they ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths." and the other 2 Nephi 31:20 in the Book of Mormon, "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore , if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I love the way it helps me learn to live as a disciple of Christ. I'm far from perfect and that's OK, because I know that each week as I partake of the sacrament I can seek and receive the cleansing peace offered by the atonement of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints allows me to feel of my Heavenly Father's love and gives me the courage to overcome the many challenges that life seems to throw at me on a regular basis. Being a Mormon also provides me with a solid foundation for life, I've been able to avoid many influences that have proven to bring sorrow and misery to so many others. As a child I enjoyed associations with wonderful teachers who taught me by example, word, and song. During my teenage years I was heavily engaged in weekly activities and Sunday services that built my self-confidence, provided leadership opportunity, and allowed me to engage in literally hundreds of service and spiritual experiences. As a young adult I was able to dedicate two years of my life to the Lord, sharing His message of hope and joy to many in the beautiful country of Japan. As a middle age husband and father I continue to learn and grow closer to the Lord due to my membership. Why am I a Mormon? Simply put, because it brings me true joy and happiness! It has my entire life and I know it will continue to do so as I progress into the twilights of life and beyond.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively accepting and serving in church callings, striving to be kind to others in all situations, and by doing my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ. One of my favorite things to do is visit four families at least monthly as their Home Teacher. I get to share uplifting messages, help with projects, and look for ways I can help. I have found that a smile when passing a stranger, or stopping to open a door, saying hello, and accepting people for who they are has also allowed me to be a better disciple of Jesus. Being a husband and father provides me innumerable opportunities to live my faith. Going on a bike ride with my daughter, taking a hand-in-hand walk with my wife, spending time reading the scriptures as a family, having weekly family activities, and many more provide me with daily opportunities to demonstrate my commitment to my faith. I also live my faith by being willing to share it's joy and happiness with those who are interested. I know where I came from, I know why I am here on Earth, and I know where I am going beyond this life. What a joy it is to share the answers to these questions with those who desire to know.
