Hi I'm Wade

I am a husband, a father of three and a twin. I love playing basketball and am an avid sports fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing basketball, even if it is just in a social league. I enjoy watching many sports and am a vocal supporter of our city's teams in football, rugby league, union and Aussie rules. I have three beautiful childen who keep me busy but focused, and a wife who is also a good friend. I work in communications and publishing and I try to make a difference.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because following its teachings brings me happiness. I grew up as a member of the church but I went to a high school where my twin brother and I were the only members of this church. I saw how the decisions of some of my friends led to situations that were not ideal, often made them unhappy and sometimes had long-lasting consequences. On the other hand, the things I learnt going to church seemed to act as a defence and help me to remain in control of where my life was going. I love the teachings of Christ in the Bible, and I believe in his teachings found in the Book of Mormon. When put together, things just seem to make sense. The other thing that just makes sense is having a prophet on the earth today. It is a great thing to think that a man can still be used as God's messenger just like in Biblical times.

How I live my faith

Life is about making a difference and I try to do this in my church and in the community. It is about watching out for others, not just spiritually but also with their physical needs. Mowing lawns, helping out in times of disaster, saying some encouraging words when life is geting someone down, sharing spiritual experiences; these are some of the ways I try to live my faith.
