Hi I'm Tahnee

I'm a uni student completing a degree in Law/Justice. I work part time at a library and I'm a wife, but importantly, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a full time uni student doing a double degree in Law and Justice. I work part time at a library and love to read. I was married in 2013 to someone who makes me very happy. With the little time I have left after my uni work and my job, I generally spend my time with friends and family, going on outings and just enjoying life. I come from a close family where I have the support of my parents, two brothers and a sister. I divide my time between my family, friends and the book I am reading. Music is a huge part of my life as my family and friends are always playing or listening music, singing and dancing. My husband and I love to go an adventures and try new things that we haven't tried before. I love to cook and create something new and the local fabric store is one of my favourite places to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be raised in the church so for my entire life, I have enjoyed the experiences which come from being part of such a fun loving and caring group. As I grew up, I came to learn about the Saviour and how he loves me and I knew that he was always there for me. It is such an amazing feeling to know that he cares. To me, it made perfect sense that I had a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to be happy. I always knew what was right, but it wasn't until I was 14 that I received the confirmation that I was definitely in the right place, doing the right things and living life to my fullest potential. For four years in high school, I completed my diploma in religious education through and early morning program and as I studied more, the firmer my faith became. I face my share of opposition in life and I consider myself lucky I have come out unscathed and ready to increase my knowledge and faith as I continue through life.

How I live my faith

To me, the gospel is more than just a set of rules and regulations. To me the gospel is a way of life and one which I enjoy. I have people ask me whats so different about me and I simply have to answer, my faith. My faith sets me apart because it makes me so much happier, even on bad days. I am involved in the church heavily. Between normal Sunday services, I also have the opportunity to work in the Public Affairs department within the Church in Queensland. With the responsibility I have the opportunity to work with the community, the Church and also Members of Parliament. In Public Affairs, we bridge the gap between the community and the church, bringing them together and helping them work together. I have also had the chance to train those who teach children, to help them more effectively teach, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Church does not endorse a single political party over another. Members of the Church are very fortunate to be able to choose the political party or candidate which they feel would govern their area of the world the best. As a Members of the Church, we are encourage to be informed voters and to be aware of political processes. Show more Show less
