Hi I'm Mary

I'm a Mormon. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I grew up on a ranch in Idaho with 8 siblings, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. My Dad raised registered purebred Hereford cattle, my Mom was a Registered Nurse. I am married to an awesome man that I love very much. He loves me and works very hard to make a living for us. We have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren....one granddaughter. I am a hairstylist and love to create hair styles for people. I love to read, garden, study the scriptures, sing, go on long walks and listen/read gospel messages from President Monson and the Council of the Twelve.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel and was not always active. I had respect for my parents and obeyed them as I grew up I wanted to explore and discover everything. I now realize that was a mistake, because I wandered off into territory that took me away from the spirit and activity in the church. It took me a long, long time to get back to full activity. I have the memory of being 6 years old. I was sitting in Sacrament Meeting and was staring at the ceiling. The ceiling had the square 'tiles' that had dots all over it. The thought of what would happen when I died had come to me and I made a connection through the spirit to those dots or holes in the 'tiles' on the ceiling that day of how those dots were like eternity and that we lived on after this life. That was the first inkling I had of a testimony. When I was 10 I was taught of how Joseph Smith, when working in the field, was told to go home by his father. As he was crossing the fence he fell to the earth and received a message from Heavenly Father to go home and tell his Mother about the visit from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the sacred grove. His visit from Heavenly Father as I heard it as a young child, burned deep into my soul. I recall the image of him falling to the earth like a vision and confirmation of it's truth. I know that God lives. I know He sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth. Jesus said he would come and do His Father's will. He died for us that we might have eternal life if we will obey the commandments of God. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. As a young boy, Joseph Smith prayed to know which church was true. He was told to join none of them. He had visits by angels and by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to help him in restoring the gospel to the earth. I testify that we too can have personal revelation if we are worthy. We have a true and living prophet on the earth today. He is President Thomas S. Monson. I know in my heart that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday meetings and partake of the Sacrament, and renew my covenants of baptism. I serve in a leadership position for the women of my Ward. It is a blessing to have a friendship with some wonderful people in the gospel through worshiping together. I love to serve in the Temple every week. I also enjoy activities that are sponsored by the Church that increase my testimony and association with people that have similar values as mine.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Mary
Because this country is a democratic society, we all have the right to choose who we want in public offices. We also have our free agency to act as we see fit. Therefore the Church does not tell us who to vote for. Show more Show less
