Hi I'm Caleb Wolz

I was born without feet. I love Skiing, Rock-climbing, music and currently I attend BYU Provo.

About Me

I was born with a very rare birth defect called bilateral fibular amelia that left me without my fibulas, ankles, and feet. Despite this I am super athletic and participate in many sports including soccer, mountain biking, rock climbing, and my favorite, skiing!! I've never let my prosthesis get in the way of any of my goals or ambitions and I try to always maintain a positive attitude about my circumstances.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints becuase I know it is true. I was born and raised in the church. Both my parents are members and almost all of thier family on both sides are members as well. But thats not why I'm a member. I'm a member because I have a personal testimony that the Church is true, that the book of Mormon is a divine book of scripture translated by Joseph Smith who I know was a prophet of God, and that Thomas Monson is the prophet today. More importantly I know that Jesus is the Christ. That he lives today and has a perfect body of flesh and bone. I know that He suffered for the sins of the world so that we could be cleansed of our sins and return to our Father in Heaven. I also know that he not only suffered for our sins but that he suffered all the pains and anguish we feel in this life and he did so absolutely alone so that we never have to be. Even when we feel like our own family has no idea what we're going through, He does and He's always there to comfort us so long as we turn to him. I know this because I have felt His comfort in my life. When my family could offer no consolation or comfort because they had never dealt with the pains and trials that come from being an amputee I knew I could turn to Him for comfort and peace and felt that in my life. I dont know how I would make it through life without His help. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

For me, I try to remember God and live my faith as best I can everyday and not just on Sunday. I attempt to do this through daily prayer, scripture study, remembering what the Savior did for me and attending all my priesthood/church meetings. Doing this helps me to cultivate a deep personal relationship with my Father in Heaven and this relationship in turn helps me with my struggles, gives me guidance, helps me understand my purpose in life, and gives me true, lasting happiness.
