Hi I'm Carter

I grew up in Boise, Idaho and joined the Church at age 13 through the Boy Scout's program. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married to my sweet wife for 33 years. I have two (2) married sons and five (5) grand children. I enjoy fly fishing and when I have time I build fly rods and tie my own flies. I enjoy playing golf and shooting sporting clays. My wife and I also enjoying geocaching, especially with our grand children. I am a risk manager for an engineering & architectural firm.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a boy in the Methodist religion. I come from a family that always believed in God and church was an important part of our life. My parents joined the Mormon church when I was 6 years old, but quit participating in the Mormon church when we moved to a small town in Washington State in the 60's where the Church had only a few members. I was reintroduced to the Church when I was 12 years old by friends that invited me attend to Boy Scouts. I started attending Boy Scouts and was baptized into the Church when I was 13. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the fullness of the gospel was brought back to us through the restoration Joseph Smith. I like the fact that the Church focuses on the family unit and the importance of a strong family that shows love and respect to each family member. I also appreciate that the Church is service minded that it is always looking how to serve and support not just its members, but those in the community that may require assistance. This attribute has made me a better and stronger person whereby I seek out opportunities to assists those around me. I have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and I know that He died for me so I could someday return to live with my Heavenly Father. I am thank for His atoning sacrifice on my behalf. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me personally and that they want me to be happy. I am thankful for the restoration of the Gospel in these latter days by Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today in Thomas S. Monson. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father that loves us so much that He has a prophet on the earth to lead and guide us. I am thankful for the Book of Mormon and how it compliments the Holy Bible. I am thankful for the strength the Book of Mormon provides me and teaches me of Jesus Christ's love for every living soul.

How I live my faith

I presently serve as a religeous leader (Bishop) over a congregation. I have stewardship and oversee almost 500 members of the Church in the area where I live. It is my responsibility to look after their spiritual and temporal welfare. I also oversee the auxillaries of the congregation such as Sunday school, children programs and classes, youth programs and classes, adult classes and organizations. I strive to be a good example to those I assocaite with. and live a righteous life.
