Hi I'm James

I grew up in the Tennessee backwoods and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 28 years old from a family of 8. I have two amazing kids, a beautiful wife, and a dog named Stewie. I am attending dental school in hopes of becoming an endodontist. I love the outdoors and spending time with my family. My daughter often paints my toenails (usually pink) and I still haven't learned how to get it off. My wife says I have OCD because all the light switches in our home have to face the same direction.

Why I am a Mormon

When I think of religion, I feel that God intends for us to understand who he is. With all of the different religious views in the world (most of which are very different) it is very difficult to come to that understanding. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has aided me in developing my relationship with God. I now see God for who he is... our Father. He is sincerely interested in me as an individual and as his son. With this in mind I tend to see the world in a different perspective. I seem to be happier. I understand better why I am on Earth and what I must do to live with him again. I now have a sense of purpose.

How I live my faith

I currently have the opportunity to instruct youth of my local congregation during Sunday school. This is a great experience for me because I realize from experience that they are at a crossroads in their life. A single misguided decision could alter their lives forever. I appreciate the opportunity to donate my time in the service of others.
