Hi I'm Niki

I'm a hairstylist and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am currently in cosmetology school, I served a mission in Cleveland Ohio. I love reading LDS romance novels and hope to write one of my own some day. I love TV shows and Movies and all kinds of Music. I love being an Aunt and enjoy being creative. I'm just living each day and trying to better myself and even though I have rough days the gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me through my challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and have always had the teachings of it at my home. I was always taught to go to church and pray and read my scriptures and never really questioned it. Now that I am older I have learned that I can't rely on my parents testimony alone and that I needed to know for myself. I had the opportunity of singing in the choir for the general young woman's broadcast 2 years ago and I really gained a testimony of the gospel through that experience. I have a testimony of the power of music. Each Sunday night I would go and sing hymns for 2-3 hours and each time I sang I felt the spirit stronger and stronger. I have also gained a testimony through personal experiences. I have learned that trials really do help you become stronger. I love this gospel with all of my heart. I don't know what I would do without it. I love the priesthood and all the blessing received from it. I know this church is true and I know that if you go to seminary, institute or even just read the scriptures or prophets talks that you will gain a strong testimony of this gospel and you too will know it to be true for yourself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I present myself. I am modest and I am not afraid to share my beliefs. I am preparing for a mission and I am constantly searching to help people. I talk with people about there faith and I listen and learn about the different faiths. I study my scriptures and say sincere prayers. I visit the temple and go to church. I'm always open to answering people questions about the church.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Scripture study helps and gives you a more powerful assurance that this is the true church. The biggest thing that has helped me know the Mormon church is true is through prayer. If you pray with an open heart and if you are sincere in what you are saying the Spirit will testify to you of the truth. The Spirit talks to each person differently. For example when I feel the Spirit I usually get a feeling of 'butterflies' in my stomach or a feeling of anxiety that is a relaxing and calming anxiety. I promise you that if you pray with a sincere heart you will receive an answer. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is a Law given to us from our Heavenly Father that keeps us safe and pure. It instructs us to be sexually pure by not having sexual relations until we are married lawfully to someone. It also instructs us to be pure in thought and action and to avoid temptations that will lead us down the wrong path. The Law of Chastity blesses us with a happier family and happier marriage. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The reason why Mormon missionaries proselyte is so that the church can be known to everyone. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints invites everyone to be apart of it. By proselyting, missionaries can find those who may have never heard of the church. This provides everyone the chance to accept the gospel. Even if they aren't interested, proselyting gives them the opportunity to hear about it. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

As Latter-Day Saints we invite everyone to receive the blessings of the gospel. When it comes to our temples everyone is invited, however there are certain qualifications a person has to have to be able to enter into our temple. The reason why we have these qualifications is not to exclude anyone. We do this because the temple is the house of the Lord and is so sacred and pure that we want to keep it that way. By living the gospel and being baptized and following the example of Christ everyone can become worthy of entering the temple. Because we want to keep the temple sacred and pure we don't share what goes on. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, as a Latter-Day Saint we are taught to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ helped everyone no matter where they came from or what they have done. I have learned that serving is the best thing a person can do. Whether you choose to accept the message of the restored truth or not, never hesitate to ask a mormon for help. We strive to be like Christ and love the opportunity to help. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is basically what you believe. Having a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ means that you believe what you have been taught to be true. A testimony is increased as you learn more about the gospel and pray to know if it is true. Sometimes you will want to share your testimony which means that you were verbally tell someone what you believe and know to be true. You don't have to share a testimony verbally to have one though. If you know something to be true in your heart and believe what you've been taught then you have a testimony. Show more Show less
