Hi I'm Jason

I am a Physical Education teacher. I have an awesome wife and a miracle son. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an elementary Physical Education teacher. I have mastered the line between work and play for a career. I married my beautiful wife while we were in college. I have one amazing miracle son. He weighed less than two pounds at birth and had eleven surgeries during the first three years of his life. Now I have the blessing of seeing modern day miracles everyday as I look at him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the power of purposeful prayer. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). I attended the LDS Church during my youth but was exposed to many other religious teachings. The teachings of my parents and Sunday school teachers helped me begin to form a testimony. However, as I moved from childhood into young adulthood, the teachings of my youth only carried me so far. I often questioned why in my own extended family there were 4 or 5 different religions. When I was 17 years old, I started dating my future wife. For a year or so, every Sunday after we went to our own churches we would discuss what we each had learned that day. There were always similarities and differences. I wanted her to take the discussions with the missionaries from my church but still had questions myself wondering if what I had been taught was true. I could not ask her to learn something that was not true. As time went on, I knew that she was the one that I wanted to be with forever. The more we studied scriptures together, our love for one another and our desire to follow Christ's teaching and find the truth grew. We would pray together and separately on this matter. We received many answers through our prayers. I knew that my Father in Heaven loved me and would help me to know without a doubt what the truth was. So I took the test. I had prayed many times during my life. This time was different. I knelt down before my maker with strong desire and told him, "I need your help to know if this Church is true." The power of the Holy Ghost came over me like never before. My heart did swell. Like a still small voice, but strong enough I knew that it was my Father in Heaven, I knew "It is true." I know that our Father in Heaven did answer my prayer. I know that Jesus Christ did die for our sins and lives today and that his church has been restored to the Earth today. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I currently teach Sunday school to the youth and work with the boy scouts during the week. My main focus is helping my family to stay close to one another and become closer to our Heavenly Father by striving to have the Holy Ghost with them at all times. I try to be a strong example to those in my family and at work. I enjoy working with the missionaries and sharing my experiences with others because I know that our Father in Heaven will answer the prayers of anyone who asks with an open heart.
