Hi I'm Jenetta

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother of one precious little girl and wife to a wonderful man.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho and Utah primarily. I was homeschooled when I was younger but went to high school in order to graduate. I went to college for Horticulture and afterwards started working and met my husband. We got married after about 8 months and a couple of years later we had a little girl. We are both into cooking and love trying new recipes and new types of food. We also love hiking and camping. We are trying to get into backpacking. I also love to read. I have read so many books I can't even count or remember them all. I love most different genres. I love to crosstitch and started a tradition of stitching a birth announcement for my friends first babies. I'm still working on my little girl's announcement because I've done so many in between. I'm interested in sustainable living and being self-sufficient. When we have a place of our own I would love to get in to chickens and bees and other urban farm ideas. I am a member of the community gardens and also have a little herb garden on my deck. I love the outdoors more than I can express. I wish I could go hiking every day and camping every weekend. I find the most peace and joy being out in nature. I'm currently a stay-at-home mom and loving being with my little girl all day every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have been given a witness from above that this is the true church on this earth. I was born into the church however, I didn't know for myself if it was true until college. When I was in college I decided to find out for myself if this was the way I wanted to live my life and if this was truth. I studied the scriptures and prayed to know if they were true. I also tried living as if I knew it was true. I gave the church a serious try for the first time in my life and the peace and joy it brought me helped me to know that it was true. I never feel such deep peace and "rightness" as I do in the church. I can feel that reading my scriptures or the other words of our living prophets. I can also feel those wonderful feelings when I attend our church meetings or when I attend the temple. I can also feel the Spirit of the Holy Ghost when I serve my fellow man. I know that this is the one true church of God on earth. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that he suffered for my sins and failings. I also know he died for me and was resurrected, breaking the bonds of death for me and for all of us. I know I will live again one day with all of my loved ones who came before or who will come after me. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the true word of God and that the answers to this life and the next are found in their pages. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God just like those prophets of old in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also know that all the prophets the church has had since then were called of God including our current prophet Thomas S. Monson. I know Jesus lives and loves me and that I have a Heavenly Father who cares about me and about my eternal salvation enough to provide all the answers to return to Him one day.

How I live my faith

I am active in my ward through visiting teaching and callings. I enjoy visiting teaching because it helps me to reach out and get to know sisters who I may not have had a reason to contact before. I enjoy the opportunity to serve them monthly and share in their lives. I recently was called to help organize a monthly activity for our women's organization. I really enjoyed this calling because it stretched me in my leadership skills. I am usually not comfortable being a leader but the church is a wonderful place to grow where I know I won't be judged. I have had many callings in the past that have involved teaching or musical appreciation. I'm also currently learning the basics of the gospel again as I teach my little girl about Jesus and God. I am trying hard to share this beautiful gift and understanding I have with her and she is teaching me about the simple and wonderful faith and understanding of little children.
