Hi I'm Liesle

I'm from Virginia, I love ancient history and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying history at the University of Virginia. I LOVE ancient history. I wish I could read cuneiform, runes, Latin, or Hindi! I play piano and love to sing in choirs. I have been in two successful choirs. I have four brothers. I love to climb trees, play soccer and listen to Elvis!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I want to be like my mom. She is the smartest, funniest, most talented, and most stalwart individual I know. She fights against injustice and hypocracy and stands for truth, love and joy. All of her convictions are rooted in living the gospel to it's fullest. My mom and dad have the best marriage I have ever seen. I want my future marriage to be patterened after their's. Their marriage is patterened after the gospel. My favorite parts of their relationship are: My mom is a complete equal to my dad. They make important desicions together. They both earn, budget and spend the money. They are each other's best friends. They stay up late talking about politics, science, history, the scriptures, (ANYTHING!) together. My dad supports my mom in her goals outside of her role as homemaker: being a children's author, Irish dancing, and travelling the East Coast, to name a few. They sacrifice for each other often. They are honest with each other when something is unfair for wrong in our family. Their marriage has kept our family centered and strong. They have always told us that they love us and want us to have all that the gospel has given them. They have always told me that the gospel and this church is the best way to live and find happiness. I want that and that's why I'm Mormon.

How I live my faith

I pray and read my scriptures everyday. I try to treat people kindly no matter who they are, where they are from, or what they look like.  I stay above unwholesome influences. I listen to music, read magazines, watch movies and read books that encourage my desire to serve God and other people. I spend quality time with my family. From June 2011 until December 2012 I am serving a mission to help share God's love with others.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Having part of a family is the most important social interaction we have in this life. Immediate family, extended family, or the human family! It does not matter. Living in a family gives us the chance to love each other with no strings attached. Rich or poor, healthy or sick, boy or girl the home can bring love, acceptance, progress and joy to everyone that is part of it. When a family lives the gospel they can have these things. Life and the gospel are meant to bless families. Show more Show less
