Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in North Ogden, Utah. I'm a band geek. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! I can play several different instruments. Before serving a mission, I went to college, and started a Business Management degree. I love my family! I love watching sports. I'm currently serving a mission in Spokane Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was already Mormon. As I grew up, I wanted to know if what my parents taught me was true. I had the opportunity when I was 14 years old, to visit Palmyra, New York. While I was there, I had the chance to go to the Sacred Grove, the place where God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I really wanted to know if it was all true, so I went by myself into the grove of trees, and prayed to know if it was true, and if Joseph Smith really did see God. The answer came with power and force, yet it was a feeling of comfort. I knew that it was true, and although I couldn't describe why, I felt it was true. As I've gotten older, I've found that this church truly does teach us the doctrine of Christ. We are taught to learn, and to love one another. We're taught to stay away from drugs and alchohal, and things that can harm us. In other words, it teaches us to be better people, and to live better lives by helping those around us and serving others. And that is one of many reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by just trying to be a good person. I try to stay positive about things, and not talk negative about anyone or anything. One thing I've learned over the years is that the best way to get along with someone is to serve them. I try to help others out as often as I can, and just always try to do the right thing. Right now, I'm in Washington, helping others come closer to Christ, through faith in Him, and Obedience to His commandments, and recieve the joy that can come only through the gospel.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Chris
We really do believe that there is a prophet like Moses today. His name is Thomas S. Monson, and he is chosent by God, just as Moses was. President Monson holds the authority to act in God's name, and recieves council and direction from God to help us in our daily lives. Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Chris
Being self-reliant is important to us because it helps us become better citizens in our communities. If you are prepared for emergencies, whether they are natural disasters, or economic hard times, you can become a blessing to those around you, rather than a burden. Show more Show less
