Hi I'm Nathan

I'm from Nebraska. I like ultimate frisbee. I served a mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska as the youngest of four children. I recently finished serving a two year mission to Las Vegas. I am currently going to school. I play the trumpet and really enjoy jazz music. I also love ultimate frisbee and played on a team in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by my parents. Through reading the Book of Mormon and praying, I have come to know that it is true. The more that I learn as I continue to study, the more that I am sure that this is the true church that Jesus Christ organized on the Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving a mission. By being able to help others come closer to God and to feel the great power of the Atonement.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The only way to know that it is true is to pray. Many times in the scriptures it says "ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you." When you read from the Book of Mormon, you are seeking that truth. God answers prayers when you ask Him. You will know that it's true by the feelings of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Our faith must be centered on the Lord Jesus Christ. Although there are many things in the gospel that we have faith in; it all comes back to Jesus Christ. We need to believe that he lived and died for us, that he was resurrected, and that through him we can return to live with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We Believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He is the "author and finisher of our faith." It is only through Christ's suffering and death that we can be forgiven of our sins and because He was resurrected, we will all have the blessing of resurrection. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Baptisms are performed by proxy for the dead because baptism is essential to our salvation. Jesus taught that "except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." There have been many people who have lived in a time or place where Christ was not known; those people never had the chance to be baptized, so God has provided a way for them to receive the same blessings. The people that are baptized by proxy can choose if they want to accept or not the baptism that had been done. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

It is the power of God to act in his name for the salvation of his children. It is needed to preform baptisms and give blessings. Not just anybody can preform these sacred ordinances. In the book of Acts chapter 19 verses 13-16 it reads: "13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Those men had no priesthood and they were unable to remove the evil spirit from the man. Jesus Christ had the priesthood and so did Paul. Only with it can men act in God's name. The same priesthood that existed then is on the earth today and with it so is The Church of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

After we die we all go to a spirit world to await the resurrection. While our physical body may be buried, our spirits still live in the spirit world. There we are with loved ones that have already passed and we learn. Everyone will have a chance to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and those who didn't know of him or didn't accept him here will be given the chance in the spirit world. We will be in the spirit world until the second coming of Jesus Christ when the resurrection happens. Show more Show less
