Hi I'm Jared

I'm a student and banker. I love music and photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children and am a father of three. I have an amazing wife that is a strength to me. Some of my hobbies are listening to music and attending concerts. I love taking pictures and documenting fun times with my family. I currently work as a manager for a credit union and am working on a degree in business management. Lately I have taken a great interest in learning more about my ancestors. I love to make people laugh and have a good time together.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both Mormon when I was born. My mom joined the Church when she was a teenager and my dad grew up as a member. I learned the truths of the gospel by their teachings, but mostly by their great examples of charity and standing up for what is moral and right. When I was in high school and easily influenced by anything the world threw at me, I decided that I finally needed to know for myself how dedicated I should be to my childhood faith. As I pondered the things I already knew and the things I wanted to know better, I was led to my knees. I prayed and asked my Father in Heaven to confirm the truths that I thought I knew. He did just that. My answer came as a reminder of the happiest moments in my life... times of joy with my family, serving others for no other reason than to be helpful and lighten a burden, feeling loved, and loving. As I have built upon these feelings in my life, and acted accordingly, I have received further confirmation from the Holy Ghost that being a Mormon is what I am supposed to be. Being a Mormon means loving others, serving others, and doing whatever my Heavenly Father wants me to do... because He knows me best, and I know Him by serving His children.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is by serving in my community and within the Church. My church calling is to lead a group of men in our congregation. Together we work to plan activities that bring individuals and families together. These activities help us get to know our neighbors and serve each other. I also help organize monthly visits so that each person within our congregation is looked after by other members. I often teach lesson at church as well, which helps me coordinate the sharing of life experiences that might strengthen others.
