Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a rural grown student-athlete, photographer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an observer. If there's something new, I want to learn about it, and if someone needs help, I'm willing to offer a hand. That's why I love art and running, they are two places where you can express your whole heart as well as being able to strengthen others around you. I'm a single college student, taking courses in Northern Idaho. My oldest brother and I both have a nice wood chest full of medals, but I'm sure we wouldn't be anything without our faith.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was taught from a young age how to pray and to love the scriptures, and most importantly to trust our feelings on what's true. I've read the Book of Mormon and have listened to the words of current prophets, and I've prayed to know what God wanted for me. And I can't explain how, but the Holy Ghost, our Heavenly Father's messenger, has whispered to my heart what I must do. When I listen, I'm happy and feel peace; when I don't listen, I'm not so happy, and doubts come. From these small experiences, I've come to know that there is a way to be happy forever, through Jesus Christ's gospel. That gospel I've learned about through being a member of this church, and I always feel that same peace when I follow the doctrines of this church, and I truly believe Christ is still leading us today. I believe this is right. I've never met a group with this many smiles =)

How I live my faith

I grew up in what's known as a 'branch', a normal congregation, except with fewer people. It was great though, we had many opportunities to serve, and I loved the service. I served as a full-time missionary, which was fantastic, but the 'calling' (church position) I appreciate most was serving as a young men's assistant during high-school. Not only is it a blast to serve with the youth, but there's something special about seeing them learn how to make right choices. Today I don't have a calling, yet, but I still feel good going to church each Sunday. Plus, I get to spend everyday with family prayers and scripture study, and that's a blessing!
