We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Tanner

I'm a Computer Engineer, a Missionary, a Gamer, and a Mormon.

About Me

I had a fairly normal upbringing I graduated from High School and went to College for Computer Systems Engineering. I have always had a fun time working with computers and playing computer games. I decided to go on a mission for the church because of the testimony I had to gain on my own. The church helped me become the person I am, and helped me steer clear of things that would have negatively affected my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know that my Savior is Jesus Christ and that he set up his church while he was here on the earth. I know that his church is again restored in these last days through the prophet Joseph Smith and it has grown and has been continually led by prophets called and chosen by our Heavenly Father. I have come to know these things by reading the Book of Mormon, praying to know if it is true, and living the commandments and following the standards that the prophets have told us to live by. I have seen the blessings that come from it.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a missionary for the church serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission. I help people come to know the truth of what we share about the restored church, modern day prophets, and our Savior Jesus Christ. Before serving a mission I served in several callings in the different young men's groups. I was assigned different families to visit with another member of the church. Our responsibility was to make sure these families were doing alright and to see that all their needs were being met.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Tanner
We believe in the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon, because we believe them both to be the word of God. The Bible details God's covenants with the ancient people of Israel as well as Christ's ministry among the Jews. It contains the fullness of the Gospel as does the Book of Mormon, whose sole purpose is to convince all men that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world. It shows that God loves all his children and is evidence that he has called a prophet in these latter days. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Tanner
Our Church buildings are often confused with the temples. Everyone is invited to attend our church services at our church buildings. We come to pray together, partake of the sacrament, read and study from the scriptures, and fellowship with each other. Our temples are Sacred places where special ordinances are performed. In the temples, families can be sealed together for eternity, members of the church are endowed with blessings, and it is also a place of learning where we come to understand God's plan for us. While it is required that you have a temple recommend to enter, everyone is welcome to work towards being worthy to enter the Lord's house. Show more Show less
