Hi I'm Elaine

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I worked at a fantastic site called Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Site. I met my husband and we were sealed in the Las Vegas Temple. We moved to Florida shortly after and I was able to continue to work for Parks and Recreation for Orange County. I love being outdoors and the slimy, furry things that live there. My husband is a pilot, therefore we are in the business of moving. My husband and I along with our two beautiful girls now reside in Charlotte, NC. I love, love, love it here and probably will never want to move anywhere else. Though I love where I live, it is hard being away from family, and my husband's job is rough with the economy now. I know how much he works for us and it has allowed me to stay at home with my kiddos thus far. We are happy and healthly and we have each other. What more could I want!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I feel like I can say I am converted. I come from a part-member family (some believe in the gospel, some don't) and had to go through some of the not-so-great things that took me further away from the gospel. Fortunately, Heavenly Father brought me to my knees and let the Holy Ghost testify to me that I have a loving Father in heaven that will accompany me through all events in my life and he gave me a Saviour who died to allow me a path back to him. There is a wonderful organization to the Church that permits us all to be active missionaries to the youth and to each other, and it is there to meet the needs of those in our reach. This help is divinely directed. We have a living Prophet today that. among other things, makes any Church of Jesus Christ of LDS the same, wherever I may go; there is no confusion as to what we may believe. Sincere prayer is a big part of the faith. I appreciated these things and did choose and continue to choose to live as an active Latter Day Saint.

How I live my faith

I participate in the Church by taking ward callings, or church jobs. I have been involved with teaching children age 5-6 on Sundays, about the fundamentals of the Plan of Happiness. They wanted guidance all the time, and I am grateful that I had a manual to give them the answers they needed. I have also tried to work with the women in the area, to give them activities to attend and let them have some relief and fun. Currently I work with the little children in our Nursery and LOVE IT!!!
