Hi I'm Margaret

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 50-plus grandmother of 6, mother of 4, living in Oklahoma USA. I love the wide-open skies of this part of the country, and enjoy watching the natural world around me change from season to season. In the plains, my favorite seasons are spring and fall, when temperatures are moderate and nature puts on a show of spring or fall colors. I like to garden, watch birds, and try to identify wild flowers. Indoors, I play the piano and organ, and do some composing. I was thrilled to have one of my choral compositions published recently! Writing is a skill I like to practice by working on my personal and family histories. I miss writing the term papers and essays I used to write in college, and my former job writing and editing for a metropolitan newspaper. Creative writing is not my forte, although I would like to try it. I enjoy living among the good people of our state, who for the most part, worship God, value families, and are loyal to their country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with a long, Mormon pioneer heritage. I have learned for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true gospel! Through my prayers and study of the scriptures, I have felt the witness of the Holy Spirit tell me that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are real and know me; that the Church of Jesus Christ is God's kingdom here on earth, organized to spread the gospel and save all mankind through the Priesthood of God and true ordinances performed with proper authority; and that we are meant to live in families here on earth and into eternity. I love living the Lord's commandments; I feel His blessings in my life when I do so. I cherish my family relationships and know we will be together in the eternities as a family, if I keep the promises I have made to God. God has a plan for each of us, and He will reveal that to you as you pray to Him in faith and keep His commandments!

How I live my faith

My service in the church has helped me discover new skills and strengthened talents I already had. In the past I have served as a church musician, helping in adult choir, children's music, and congregational worship. I have taught gospel classes for children, teens, and adults. I especially enjoyed teaching teenagers daily before school for 5 years; I learned so much about the gospel of Jesus Christ through my study and learned so much more from the young students. For 11 years I served in the Boy Scout program: Cub committee chairman, Webelos leader, and 11-year-old Boy Scout leader. It has been a joy helping boys and teens learn to set goals and serve in the community.
