Hi I'm John

I am of Dutch heritage and came to Australia with my parents when i was one. I 'Am no 3 of 4 kids (3 sisters) And i am a Mormon.

About Me

I work in the security industry as a security officer,on the vehicle patrol side and my hobbies are fixing and tinkering with computers. In my earlier years also fixing cars, until they became too complicated with chips etc. I built the home we live in, not great but well enough to house our family. I have a loving wife Yvonne who is the light of my life and eternal commpanion. I also have 7 wonderful children who mean the world to me, and two of which have already moved back to heaven. I have 11 grandchildren who mean alot to me, and of course, two son-in-laws and two daughter-in-laws who also mean the world to me. I guess I am just a softy for family connections, and family around me. If i had my way we would all live on the same property, just for the closeness as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the faith i belonged to before, did not fulfill all of my expectations. I can honestly say that The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints fulfills all of my expectations and more. I love the fact that i can be with my family for all eternity, including all of my ancestors who have gone before me and the fact that i will see my two sons again after i go. I love the closeness we can have with other people who all believe the same things, and have the same values as myself, and that we can meet together each week, increasing that closeness as a church membership and that we can feel that genuine love for each other and as we grow together in the Lords gospel.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to others as i live my faith. I am a person who loves people and loves to see the best come out from them, as they progress in this life, improving each week individually and as families. Families are very important to me, so going to church with my family is a highlight in my world. I try to encourage my family in the good things of this world, and teach them to love the Savior and our heavenly Father like i do. I am a Branch president of a Branch and love to see the growth of the members, in that branch and it amazes me the good that people do for no money or thanks just for the love of the Savior. Scripture reading is very hard for me, as i do not retain as much as when i was younger, but i love to learn about the Savior and Heavenly Father i enjoy institute classes as i learn so much. I love my Savior and Heavenly so much and love the gospel in my life so much, i know i could not go back to the life i had before i joined the church about 39 years ago. i always look forward and hopefully grow in the gospel as i go.
